ccj-photo2016Chloé Charbonneau-Jobin was recently appointed Staff Union Legal Adviser. Chloé is a member of the “Barreau du Québec” and has started her career as litigation lawyer specialized in professional liability and disciplinary cases in a private firm in Montreal. From 2001 to 2004, she worked in the International Labour Standards Department of the ILO (NORMES) essentially within the Freedom of Association Branch (LIBSYND) while undertaking D.E.A. studies in international law at the Graduate Institute of International Studies of Geneva (now IUHEI). After a few years between India and Brazil, where she did some work for the Canadian government among other things, Chloé pursued her career in Ottawa within the largest union of professionals and civil servants employed by the Canadian federal government where she represented union members before various administrative and quasi-judicial bodies including in arbitration and mediation and before human rights tribunals. Chloé also participated in labour-management consultation meetings as technical adviser and provided training sessions to union stewards.
